Ventures

Our ventures, at every stage.

Every venture follows the same path, from a problem worth solving to something that stands on its own. Here they are grouped by where they are on that path.

Spun off

Proven, and now running as a company of its own.

Garden Inspection App

Seasonal parcel inspections for garden associations: checklist and photos on a phone, a report to each owner on the spot.

garteninspektion.com ↗
Problem
Garden associations inspected their parcels on paper, which made consistent feedback to every plot holder slow and laborious.
Solution
A mobile web app for on-site checklists and photos that sends each owner a clear report, and resets for every season.
Status
In use for real inspection seasons, and now a company of its own.

Spin-off in preparation

Proven with real users, and getting ready to stand on its own.

Nudget

Zero-based budgeting for young adults. Every franc gets a job, and the data stays on the phone.

nudget.ch ↗
Problem
Young adults rarely stick with budgeting: most apps record spending after the fact instead of changing the habits behind it.
Solution
An offline app for Android and iOS built on zero-based budgeting, savings goals and gentle nudges — no account, no cloud.
Status
App complete, waitlist open at nudget.ch; spin-off in preparation.

Doctor Watson

A calm task assistant for ADHD minds: three active tasks at a time, big ones broken into small steps.

drwatson.app ↗
Problem
People with ADHD lose track of tasks and stall on anything not broken into concrete steps — and long lists make it worse.
Solution
A calm assistant for Android and iOS: capture a task in seconds, keep only three active, break big ones into steps, get reminded at the right moment.
Status
Working and tested on Android; store release and spin-off in preparation.

Live

Built and in use — still with LabVentures.

igoto

A short link for every traffic source, so you can see which channel actually drove each click.

igoto.ch ↗
Problem
Campaigns run across many channels, but it’s hard to tell which one actually brings the visitors.
Solution
One short link per source, all pointing to the same destination, with clicks compared side by side — and every link available as a print-ready QR code.
Status
Live at igoto.ch, open to anyone.

launCHF

Plain-language bookkeeping for newly founded Swiss companies, running entirely on your own computer.

launchf.ch ↗
Problem
Founders of new Swiss companies face bookkeeping tools that assume accounting knowledge or require a cloud subscription.
Solution
A local desktop app that speaks plain language on top of correct Swiss double-entry accounting: QR-bills, bank reconciliation, payroll and year-end closing.
Status
Runs LabVentures’ own books; public download via launchf.ch.

QR Studio

Custom QR codes with live preview, styling and export — a by-product of building igoto.

qrstudio.labventures.ch ↗
Problem
QR codes for print and campaigns should match their design — and making them shouldn’t mean handing your content to an online service.
Solution
A tool for custom QR codes with live preview, colours, dot styles and an optional logo — exported as PNG, SVG or JPEG, or as STL/DXF for 3D printing. It runs entirely in the browser; nothing is sent to a server.
Status
Live at qrstudio.labventures.ch; created while building igoto and kept in the lab.

Vocab Wordle

Wordle for vocabulary lists, with live class sessions and a shared leaderboard.

unisg.teaches.ch/vocab-wordle ↗
Problem
Practising vocabulary is repetitive, and it’s hard to get a whole class engaged at the same time.
Solution
Wordle with the teacher’s own word lists, played alone or in live class sessions with a join code and a shared leaderboard.
Status
Live at unisg.teaches.ch.

Anno Edu

A history quiz: guess the year of an event. Teachers build quizzes on any topic.

unisg.teaches.ch/anno-edu ↗
Problem
Getting a feel for when historical events happened is hard to practise in class.
Solution
A quiz where players estimate the year of an event and score by how close they get; teachers build quizzes on any topic from Wikipedia and approve every question.
Status
Live at unisg.teaches.ch.

In development

Being built and tested.

Tresor

Private AI that runs on your own hardware, for professionals bound by confidentiality — starting with lawyers.

Problem
Lawyers and other professionals bound by confidentiality can’t send client data to cloud AI services.
Solution
An AI assistant that runs entirely on the firm’s own hardware — starting with legal research, summaries and redaction under Swiss law.
Status
In development: a first version for solo lawyers in German-speaking Switzerland.

Greifbar

Hands-on AI literacy training for teams and schools.

Problem
Companies in the EU must make sure their staff understand AI (EU AI Act, Art. 4) — and hands-on training in German is rare.
Solution
Interactive German-language modules where people try AI out for themselves, with a supervised test and a certificate.
Status
In development, starting with companies.
